Need help, also many stuffed animals

My son is xiv months old and already has far likewise many stuffed animals. I don't want to get rid of them because they were more often than not gifts or accept a special story attached. I am over run with them and I demand a way to store them but still have them attainable for him to play with when he wants. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Watch some of those hoarding shows on Idiot box. You'll acquire that just because something was a gift or has a special memory fastened, it doesn't mean y'all have to continue it. We'd hardly ever throw annihilation away if it did. Select a manageable few to keep (his favorites, for example) and and then donate the rest. Let them become a comfort or special memory for someone else. Notice a shelter for women and children and take them there. Find a Title ane schoolhouse that can utilise them. Donate them to a depression income preschool. You can take pictures of him with some of the stuffed animals you give away and save the memories that way. Pictures take up manner less room.

This.

I'm not a huge fan of having a lot of toys in the business firm, and my female parent-in-law... overly dotes on my kids. They're her only grandchildren and her love language is gifts. It clutters upward our house similar crazy. I explained to my kids that information technology'southward super peachy that they have all these cool toys, just some kids don't have that many. Before I could explain more my three yr old was similar, "Tin can I SHARE THEM?" So subsequently every birthday or vacation we've fabricated a tradition of donating older or less wanted toys and my kids really savor it. It keeps my business firm clean and my kids keep a decent attitude virtually sharing their stuff. Plus, I let them (mostly) decide what they desire to keep and what they want to share. Only an idea for when they're older. I presume if your little one is getting a lot of gifts now they will later too!

I got a puppy. He'southward chewed upwardly half my stuff so I didn't have to make any of these difficult decluttering decisions.

Toy hammock up in a corner, beanbag zipper cover without "beans" filled with stuffies, apparel hamper. I'1000 overrun every bit well (iv kids under 8)!

level 2

I've thought about the hammock but he loves to play with them and slumber with them. Only I love the clothes hamper thought!! Thank you

Detect a beanbag handbag, or something of similar size and utility like an old futon cover, put the animals inside and make a beanbag chair. Fun to sit in, fun to play on, and the stuffies are always there to play with as soon as your son learns to use a attachment.

Too makes for easy cleanup of all soft toys, they tin all get in the bag.

We got ane from "Boon" called the "Animal Bag" and information technology's been great.

Deplorable, my daughter is an 11-year old stuffed animal aficionado and I'm laughing as well difficult to answer this...

Oh no, wait, pretty sure I'm crying instead.

Good luck OP!

My wife and I constantly purge our daughters toys. She loves to spend the night at Grammy's, but when she comes dwelling house stuff is missing. She has figured this out. You know what else she figured out? That the purges occur well-nigh holidays and her birthday.

As parents, we are not mindless with the purges. Nosotros know what she has outgrown or lost interest in.

level 2

Is she erstwhile plenty to pick out what to get rid of? If she gets upset, possibly she could starting time picking what toys need to go. When my daughter was maybe 3.5, I told her nearly donating/giving to charity. Now about twice a year, I hand her a laundry basket and tell her to fill it upwards with toys for goodwill. That way she chooses what leaves and she'due south not upset by it.

I got a popular-up hamper to put my kids stuffed animals in. They tin get to them whenever they want plus it's collapsible.

That's a great idea, cheers!!

I utilise I pop up apparel hamper likewise its great!

How much is too many? I still have at least 50 from when I was a child in a basket somewhere in my basement.

level 2

Probably around xx big and xx small ones. I know it doesn't sound similar a lot but they are just laying effectually, in the bed, or stuffed in the toy bins (which get out no room for bodily toys). A basket or laundry hamper sounds similar a good idea and I will be looking for one soon.

level ane

When I was petty my parents had the aforementioned issue. What they did was buy a fun laundry hamper (one of those ones that are similar a monkey or elephant) and that was my stuffed animal hamper. Once I got older I could only have stuffed animal if they could fit in that hamper so if I got to many I had to give some abroad. But if I had a really actually good reason (my great grandmother gave me a stuffed animal that I hated just I never wanted to give it abroad because she had died and it meant a lot to me) than it could go in a special box. Only I could only take a few in the box and I had to accept a solid reason. This also taught me to prioritize my toys a fleck. And so, once I was older, I had this inherent understanding that I needed to go rid of things before I got new things. It fabricated me only buy things that I really valued.

When I was little my mom had a internet that hung in the corner that held all my stuffed animals, under it was more toys and a small play expanse. It saved flooring infinite and it looked pretty cool.
